Chapter 3 Systemwalker Desktop Patrol Functions | > 3.4 Contents Management Function |
To manage contents to be distributed, the following steps are necessary:
Contents to be distributed are managed on the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol MC"
Systemwalker Desktop Patrol allows registration of files and software as content.
Content can be allocated a name, version, a validity period and size.
The PC can view and download contents for the period specified in the "Valid Period" of the contents. (Period is useful for content that are meaningful only for a certain period of time.)
When content is downloaded to a server or client, an executable file can be specified for automatic application (installation). For contents that require administrator privileges to execute, administrator privileges can be set.
Groups can be created to classify contents. Destination servers can be set in the group.
The "Destination servers" set for a content group specifies servers to which the contents of the group will be distributed. The server specified as a destination will download the contents from an upstream server. All "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT's" can download content from the upstream server.
