3.2.1 Automatic Installation of Security Patch

The security patch provided by Microsoft can be automatically distributed and installed from the host server onto the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT".

Systemwalker Desktop Patrol downloads the security patch offered by Microsoft from "Microsoft's public server" and automatically registers it in the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS". This function ensures automation of all tasks right from the acquisition of a security patch to its installation on the client.

Getting the security patch automatically installed, ensures that users of the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT" do not have to perform any updates to ensure security. It also prevents security patch installs from being omitted.

1. The "Software Dictionary" in which the inventory information to be collected is defined will be distributed from the "Systemwalker Support Center".
2. The administrator of the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS" specifies a security patch to be installed.
3. A security patch offered by Microsoft is downloaded from "Microsoft's public server" and automatically registered in the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS".
4. If the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol DS" is used, the security patch is automatically distributed from the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS" to the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol DS".
5. The security patch is automatically installed from the upstream server, "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS", or "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol DS", to the downstream client "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT".
6. The installation status of security patches is collected from the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT" and passed to the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS" or "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol DS".
7. The administrator of the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS" checks the installation status of security patches.

Security patches are automatically installed by Systemwalker Desktop Patrol in steps 2 to 6 above.
