Chapter 2 Configuration of Systemwalker Desktop Patrol | > 2.1 System configuration |
Systemwalker Desktop Patrol consists of the following components.
The corporate server defines content distribution operation policies and inventory information collection policies, and is responsible for distributing them to each PC.
The server (Web GUI) provides services for distributing security patches, for conducting a security audit and for license management.
The Management Console is used to manage the content to be distributed. It also defines operation policies.
Policies are set up in the Management Console, for both the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS" and the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol DS".
The Domain Server is used to relay/store operation policies, inventory information and contents to be distributed.
It is installed for the purpose of load distribution. It is effective when the clients are at remote locations and the line is slow or a large capacity of content is distributed.
This is the Client Terminal. It is installed on the client PC and manages assets through inventory collection. The "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT" needs to be installed to be able to download content and receive security patches.
The Web GUI offers an operating view and is used for employing the services from the Web browser.
In addition, operating policies of "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT" can be set.
The "Desktop Patrol Main Menu" and the "Desktop Patrol Download Menu" are included in the Web GUI.
The Systemwalker Desktop Integrated Console allows a single window access to the management console of Systemwalker Desktop Patrol and other Systemwalker Desktop series.
"Systemwalker Desktop Integrated Console" can be operated on a PC that has both "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS" and "Systemwalker Desktop Integrated Console" installed.
Live Help is the software used to remotely control client machines. With the Live Help Expert, one can directly connect to the PC of the client user and provide the necessary assistance when the client user has any trouble with operation of the PC.
For more information, refer to the Systemwalker Live Help Guide.
The Live Help Client needs to be installed on the client machine. This Client receives remote operation commands from the Live Help Expert. The Expert can view on his machine, the screen of the client's PC and thus troubleshoot on that machine remotely.
For more information, refer to the Systemwalker Live Help Guide.
