B.2.1 Setting the AnsMax Parameter
There are AnsMax parameters in both conductor environment file and director environment file. However, there is no relationship between parameters.
The AnsMax parameter in conductor environment file specifies the maximum number of replies when accessing Shunsaku by using Shunsaku API through a conductor. (The figure below shows the system where Shunsaku is accessed through a conductor)
The AnsMax parameter in director environment file specifies the maximum number of replies when accessing Shunsaku by using Shunsaku API through a director. (The figure below shows the system where Shunsaku is accessed through a director)
However, accessing through a conductor is recommended according to the following reasons:
- Shunsaku must be accessed through a conductor if an update API is used.
- Shunsaku must be accessed through a conductor if the user plans to add directors in the future.
- Shunsaku must be accessed through a conductor if Shunsaku File is used.
- If Shunsaku is accessed through a conductor, an application does not need to be aware of the port number of the access destination (director).

- If Shunsaku is accessed through a conductor and any sort or aggregation process is performed, the search results of the value set at the AnsMax parameter in the conductor environment file may not be returned due to the total length of sort key or group key specified in the sort expression.
Refer to Allowable Values in the Application Development Guide for more information on the relationship of the total length of sort key or group key and the number of items that can be returned.
- If Shunsaku is accessed through a director, a sort and update API cannot be used.
