5.1 Migrating from Older Shunsaku Version

This section describes the tasks involved in migrating Shunsaku from the older version.

Shunsaku Versions that can be Migrated

The following older Shunsaku versions can be migrated to Shunsaku 8.0:

Servers to be Migrated

Of the servers comprising the Shunsaku system, the following are migration targets:

• Director servers
• Search servers
• Sort servers

Operating Configurations and System Configurations

Migrating from Shunsaku 6.x to Shunsaku 8.x

Director servers targeted for migration have the following operating configurations:

• Both conductor and sorter used
• Conductor used, but sorter not used
• Conductor not used

All director servers above also have the following configuration:

• Searchers run on separate servers

Migrating from Shunsaku 7.x to Shunsaku 8.x

The Shunsaku 7.x targeted for migration have the following system configurations:

• System operating with searchers on separate servers
• Systems operating with additional director servers
• Systems operating with additional sort servers
