Chapter 6 Uninstallation

This chapter explains how to uninstall the Tape Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager.

6.1 Uninstallation Procedure

6.1.1 Uninstallation of Tape Agent

The Tape Agent that is included in the Storage Server cannot be uninstalled alone. Therefore, uninstall the Tape Agent as the Storage Server.
For details on uninstalling the Storage Server, see "Storage server uninstallation" in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Installation Guide" for the operating system of the target Storage Server.

For the Storage Server where tape backup operation is performed, be careful for the following.

6.1.2 Uninstallation of Tape Manager

This section explains how to uninstall the Tape Manager that is included in the Tape Server.

The procedure is as follows.

  1. Saving Definition Files
  2. Deletion of Storage Server
  3. Deletion of a Tape Library System Setting
  4. Daemon Deactivation
  5. Uninstallation
  6. Uninstallation of the Agent or Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager

6.1.2.1 Saving Definition Files

When the uninstallation is performed, the following definition files of the Tape Manager are deleted.

Therefore, if the definition files are to be used again, it needs to be saved in a directory outside of the ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager directories.

6.1.2.2 Deletion of Storage Server

Before the Tape Manager is uninstalled, all of the Storage Servers that the Tape Server manages must be deleted.
For details on deleting the Storage Server, see "Server information deletion command (stgxfwcmdelsrv)" in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide for Tape Backup Option".

6.1.2.3 Deletion of a Tape Library System Setting

This explains how to delete the setting of the tape library system in the TSM system.
The procedure is as follows.

  1. Delete the setting of the drive path. (delete path)
  2. Delete the setting of the drive. (delete drive)
  3. Delete the setting of the tape library path. (delete path)
  4. Delete the setting of the tape library (controller) system. (delete library)

Before deleting the setting of the tape library system, execute a TSM administrative client command (dsmadmc).
For details, see the "ETERNUS SF TSM Administrator's Reference" and the "ETERNUS SF TSM ETERNUS LT Library Operational Guide".

6.1.2.4 Deamon Deactivation

This explains how to deactivate the daemon of the Tape Manager.
The procedure is as follows.

  1. Deactivate the Tape Server daemon. An example of the execution is shown below.
    # /etc/init.d/FJSVswstm stop

  2. Deactivate the TSM server daemon. An example of the execution is shown below.
    # /etc/init.d/initTSM stop

6.1.2.5 Uninstallation

The uninstallation procedure is as follows.

  1. Place to the super-user on the system.
    # su <Return>
  2. When the IBM tape drive device such as ETERNUS LT160 was used, uninstall the IBMtape driver.
    # pkgrm IBMtape <Return>
  3. Execute the tbounsetup command.
    # /opt/swstorage/setup/stg/tbounsetup <Return>

To reinstall the package in another directory after the tbounsetup command is executed, verify that the package directory in Appendix "Program Components of Tape Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager" is not left.
Even if the tbounsetup command is executed, the package directory may not be removed. If the package directory is left undeleted, remove it as required.

6.1.2.6 Uninstallation of the Agent or Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager

In the Tape Server, the Agent or Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed in addition to the Tape Manager.
To uninstall the Agent, see "Storage server uninstallation" in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Installation Guide".
To uninstall the Manager, see "Uninstallation of a Storage management server" in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Installation Guide".
