3.1.2 Prerequisite client environment

The clients of Web-Based Admin View support the following type of hardware, OS, and Web browser:

• Windows(R)
  • CPU

    Equivalent to Pentium II 233 MHz or higher

  • Memory

    128 MB or more

  • OS

    Windows(R) 2000 or Windows(R) XP

    

    To display Japanese, the following requirements need to be met for an OS environment

    The Japanese version of Windows(R) is installed, and Japanese is installed for the linguistic environment

  • Web browser

    Netscape 7.X, Internet Explorer 5.0 or 6.0 (Java Plug-in is required)

  • Java Plug-in

    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment Standard Edition v1.3.1

    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment Standard Edition v1.4.2(Recommended)

  • Display unit

    800 x 600 dots or higher, supports high color (16 bits, 65,536 colors) display

• Solaris OS
  • Memory

    128 MB or more (256 MB or more is recommended when many browsers start or many operation management views start.)

  • Web browser

    Netscape Communicator 4.78, Netscape 7.X, Mozilla Web browser(Mozilla environment bundled in Solaris OS)

  • Java Plug-in

    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment Standard Edition Version 1.3.1

    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment Standard Edition Version 1.4.2(Recommended)

    

  • If you want to use the Mozilla Web browser on Solaris10 OS, use Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition Version 1.4.2. For information on how to set the runtime environment, see "Web environment".
  • It is necessary to apply the following patch when Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition Version 1.3.1 or Version 1.4.2 used on Solaris 9 OS and Solaris 10 OS.

  System Management Console attached to PRIMEPOWER800/1000/2000 and GP7000F Model 1000/2000 is also available for a client.

    Java(TM)2 Runtime Environment, standard Edition, Version 1.4.2

    

    Linux(R) cannot be used as a client when OS of the management server or the monitoring node is Solaris OS.

• The conditions of the Web browser (including Java Plug-in) and clients are vary depending on each operation management product. For details, refer to the documentation of the management product.
• The Web browser might not work properly depending on its version. In such a case, use the latest version.

• For the operating environment of the management server or the monitoring node, refer to "Operation Environment."
• For details on the Java Plug-in settings, refer to "Required for the Web Browser Environment".
