5.1.4 DR Operation While Using hddv Driver

If the hot expansion function is specified in the settings of the hddv driver, an expansion operation by using DR is available for connecting a disk array unit.

If the non-hot expansion function is specified in the settings of the hddv driver, an expansion operation by using DR is not available. (Currently, only hot replacement is available.)

The expansion of using DR described above includes the following operations:

• New attachment of a system board
• Attachment by moving a system board
• Attachment after detaching the system board during configuration modification via system reboot

If this operation is executed in the non-hot expansion function setting, it will become impossible to recognize the device under the hddv driver on the corresponding system board, or a system panic may occur.
