Chapter 4 Network Devices | > 4.2 Expansion Procedure |
This section explains the procedure of PCI cards expansion for existing redundant configuration to reinforce redundancy.
It is required to detach the system boards of expansion target beforehand.
In case of the system boards equipped with non-redundant configuration PCI cards, detach the system boards according to step 2 to 4 in Section 4.1.1.
In case of the system boards equipped with redundant configuration PCI cards, detach the system boards according to step 2 in Section 4.1.2.
This procedure is not required.
Expand the PCI cards to the system boards and mount them.
A certified service engineer takes charge of this work.
Using the following procedure, attach the system boards equipped with the expanded PCI cards.
It is possible to attach the system boards to the redundant configuration automatically at the time with depending on redundant software.
Refer to the manual for each redundant software product whether the system boards are attached to the redundant configuration automatically.
# /opt/FJSVhwr/sbin/drc -connect sb01 <Return> |
# /opt/FJSVhwr/sbin/drcstat -board sb01 SB BN Status (Detail) PID Next_PID Board_Type CPU(MHz) -- -- --------------- --- -------- ---------- -------- 01 0 Configured 00 00 10 300 |
Connect the communication equipment to the expanded PCI cards with the cable.
In case of using the software that attached the system boards and the redundant configurations at the same time, it is possible to come out error messages until expansion of devices, but please ignore the messages.
In case of using the software that does not attach to redundant configuration automatically in step 3, attach the expanded PCI cards to redundant configuration manually.
Refer to the each redundant software manual for more details.
When using PCI cards expanded by using DR as active side paths, switch over these paths.
Refer to the manual for each redundant software product about how to switch over active paths.
