Chapter 10 File System Management

10.1 File System Management Commands

The GFS Shared File System provides exclusive management commands while file system management commands are multipurpose to support various types of file system.

The GFS Shared File System also provides specific management command for its unique features.

Command

Description

sfcdf

Informs the usage status of a GFS Shared File System.

sfcfsck

Checks a GFS Shared File System for consistency and repairs it.

sfcmkfs

Creates a GFS Shared File System.

sfcmount

Mounts the GFS Shared File System on a local node.

sfcumount

Unmounts the GFS Shared File System on a local node.

Description

sfcadm

Changes partition information setting.

sfcfrmstart

Starts FsRM on a local node.

sfcfrmstop

Stops FsRM on a local node.

sfcgetconf

Makes a backup of the management partition.

sfcinfo

Displays partition information.

sfcmntgl

Mounts the GFS Shared File System on all modes.

sfcnode

Adds, deletes, and changes node configuration information.

sfcrscinfo

Displays file system information.

sfcsetup

Initializes the management partition, adds, deletes and displays node information, and displays the path to the management partition.

sfcstat

Reports statistical information of a GFS Shared File System.

sfcumntgl

Unmounts the GFS Shared File System from all nodes.

Commands of GFS Shared File System are classified as follows:

sfcfsck, sfcmkfs(except -m), sfcmount
sfcadm, sfcfrmstart, sfcfrmstop, sfcnode, sfcsetup

[ used in both mounted and unmounted file system ]

sfcdf, sfcmkfs -m
sfcgetconf, sfcinfo, sfcmntgl*1, sfcrscinfo, sfcumntgl

(*1: An error occurs if the file system is mounted in all shared nodes.)
