9.2.2.2 Examples of creating a representative file system

The following is an example of creating a typical GFS Shared File System.

To create a GFS Shared File System, the partition where the file system is created must be specified. In this case, all type of data as the meta-data areaTerm, the update log areaTerm, and the file data area Termmust be created for the representative partitionTerm.

The following shows an example of creating a file system using sfcmkfs(8).

# sfcmkfs -o mdsnode=all,node=mikan,karin,mango /dev/sfdsk/gfs/dsk/volume1

Representative partition (meta-date, log and data) : /dev/sfdsk/gfs/dsk/volume1
Shared hosts : mikan, karin and mango
Primary MDS : mikan
Secondary MDS : karin
MDS operational nodes : mikan, karin, and mango
