1.7 Upper Limits of the File System

The following table lists the upper limits of the GFS Shared File System on a file system basis:

[Table Upper limits of file system]

Item

Upper limit

Maximum file system capacity

Below 1 terabyte (1 terabyte per one partition)

Maximum file size

Below 1 terabyte

Maximum number of sharable nodes

2 nodes

Maximum directory size

Below 2 gigabytes

Maximum number of partitions consisting of a file system

1 partitions

Maximum number of i-nodes per file system

16 mega

Maximum number of directories per file system

1 mega

The maximum number of GFS Shared File Systems in a cluster system is 10.

We recommend to lessen the number of the GFS Shared File Systems simultaneously used in one cluster system as much as possible. When you use many GFS Shared File Systems, please carry a sufficient number for a node of CPUs, and carry out system verification in advance.
