1.4.3 Individualized meta-cache management
The GFS Shared File System constructs its cache management of meta-data
in an individualized manner. Many conventional file systems have managed meta-data in a uniform manner. However, the GFS Shared File System provides individualized management of i-node
, directory block, and indirect block areas on disks, taking into consideration the characteristics of the access. As a result, it improves the cache-hit ratio and reducing resources used.
