Appendix A General Notes | > A.2 Important Points |
When a physical disk is registered with a class (excluding a shadow class), all data on the physical disk will be lost since GDS automatically reformats the disk. The same applies when swapping and restoring the physical disk.
When using the GDS Management View, a dialog box reminding you that all data will be lost appears. However, please be aware that there will be no reconfirmation when actually performing the command.
Also, when registering a disk containing data with a class (excluding a shadow class), the disk will be initialized at the time of the registration with a class (excluding a shadow class).
For this reason, be sure to back up data before the registration and restore the data after creating the volume.
Be aware that when a physical special file name is set for /etc/fstab, you will have to change it to a special file name for mirror volume.
/dev/sfdsk/class_name/rdsk/volume_name (character special file) /dev/sfdsk/class_name/dsk/volume_name (block special file)
