　 Applies updates from the chain of update logs.
　 -fTTTT indicates a first time and -lTTTT a last time to bracket logs.
　 TTTT is a universal time string of form YYYYMMDDhhmmss[.fff]Z and
　 represents the first or last time of interest for the update log chain.
　 The order of arguments is immaterial.
