NetCOBOLシリーズの強力な開発環境機能に加え、わかりやすく支援するツールやマニュアルを用意しており、COBOLを実習しながら学習できる環境を提供しております。
また、「NetCOBOL Academic」は「PowerCOBOL97 SCHOOL」のバージョンアップ製品で、一般のNetCOBOLシリーズ製品とは異なります。このため、「NetCOBOL Academic」で作成したアプリケーションは一般のNetCOBOLシリーズの運用環境製品配下では動作しません。
